A few rows here, and a few rows there. It's been so hot this week, but I've been enjoying the quiet evenings, just after the mosquitos come out, to sit and work on Cole's hat. The crown shaping has me stumped, wanting to add a little something more than traditional decreases. I'm guessing the twelve year old probably won't be as fond of the additions as me, though. Keep it simple, they say? He does love the design of it and that makes me very happy.
Are you knitting in the summer heat? What's on your needles?

I am knitting, but then I knit all year round regardless that there is a heat index of 111 degrees. My favorite place to knit is sitting on the beach and there are plans later this week to do just that.
ReplyDeleteLove the design of the hat, it's really pretty.
Thanks, Tracey. Beach knitting sounds lovely! It's one thing I miss about living in the woods, lots of lakes, but no beaches.
DeleteIt's a beautiful design, look forward to seeing what you do with the crown.
ReplyDeleteIt's scorching here (french alps), to hot to do much outside other than the necessary so I'm actually getting quite a bit of knitting done. Working on a Barn Sweater for myself!
Thank you, Emma. A Barn Sweater sounds wonderful!
DeleteGorgeous hat! I'd keep it simple for a young man.
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people don't like to knit in the heat, but it doesn't bother me. I do tend to do smaller projects, though, like socks and hats.
I think that's what I'm going to do. I tried the something extra at the top and it just didn't work. Simple, traditional decreases it is!
DeleteI am loving this hat!.. I living in florida still knit hats all summer long..it gets brutal but luckily I have central air to keep cool at night. The mosquitos are horrible here.. somehow I thought they wouldn't be so bad up your way.
