First Wall

After months of headache dealing with the big box lumber co, we finally found a local building supplier who was willing to help us out with our tiny house project.  I'm so much happier being able to use local materials and help small business.

  2. Oh dear, it "ate" my comment - LOL. Well now as I was saying, Susan, I was just about to ask about this. I've been following you for quite awhile and you've talked about the tiny house - but I thought you meant it would be large enough for two adults and three growing children. THEN I saw the pictures you posted - my goodness - how are you going to get everyone (and their clothing and belongings) in and comfortable? Two adults, ok - two adults and a dog and maybe a cat, ok - two adults and a dog and a cat and one small child, ok - but two adults and three children - wow! I admire you all for your dedication to building this home.

    1. Oh no, I hate when that happens. When we planned our design, we went to great lengths to observe what space we actually used in our big house and what things were very important to us. It turns out, that we didn't need much in the way of material objects or space. I would love to do a whole blog post on this, so I think I'll wait to go into more detail. :)

  4. The view out of that soon to be window is breathtaking. How good it must be to see your plans, dreams taking a very real physical state. I love watching the progress and I am encouraged by the notion of a family with common goals working together to create the world in which they want to live. Thank you for sharing your inspiring journey.

    1. It is spectacular, isn't it? Our intention was to create a small space that would allow us to live as seamlessly as possible amongst the natural world.

  5. Very exciting and I am guessing a little stressful. Summer is ending and you seem so far north. Hoping things will fall into place from here for you. And wishing your family well and at peace. And as always, thank you for sharing.

  6. Stunning views!!

Love to see how it's going to work out. And i'm looking forward to the post in you'll tell us how you figured out how much room you all need.

I showed my kids the pictures above and they were stunned by the size of your future home. I think we need to rethink expanding our house and be wizer ;)
