I started
this project last year when I was struggling with the winter blahs. I pulled out my log cabin squares again this weekend, adding a few rows here and a few rows there. I wonder how many winters it will take me to finish?

I LOVE it Liz!! I love the colors you put together.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Taryn! Sometimes it's fun to just reach into the scrap basket and knit what ever color I pick out.
DeleteI love the colors too! I have a blanket I've been working on for years...I need to pick it up again soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amanda. I'm thinking this blanket is going to be like a life long friend!
DeleteWhat a great idea! Thank you! I need to think about doing this, too. I am newly retired and starting one now and working on it in the winter sounds like a good way to use my leftovers.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. I really love these squares, because you can travel easily with them and you don't have to try and maneuver a whole blanket at once.
DeleteI love this project! No matter how many winters it takes you, it will be beautiful and filled with you when you do finish.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. It's already been fun to see my different color moods through the year!
DeleteI've been wanting to knit this blanket for ages and I'm re-inspired seeing your beautiful squares. No matter how long it takes, I like the idea of this slow process that follows you winter after winter.
ReplyDeleteThat's going to be amazing! I really don't need another long term project - just started a quit - but I think I might just cast-on one of these (using up bits of stash - sort of like spring cleaning - right?). Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly like spring cleaning! Are you sewing a quilt? I wanted to try quilting this winter, but I haven't gotten around to it. Oh well, there's always next winter.
DeleteLove the colors your using. May I ask what kind of yarn you're using? I look forward to seeing the rest of your squares. Thanks for the inspiration. Ana
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ana. I'm using left over bits of worsted weight yarns, most of them I hand dyed.
DeleteAhhhh....no wonder why those colors are so pretty. Thanks for answering my question. I look forward to seeing more! Have a nice weekend. Ana
DeleteI love those color combinations. Just wonderful. Makes me so happy!
