Homesteading:  A weekly account of our journey to becoming off grid homesteaders.  Our path will be long as we are only paying in cash and our funds are very limited.  Mike and I have no idea what we're doing so we'll be learning as we go.  I know we'll make mistakes and that's ok.  It's all part of the process.

We would love to read about your homesteading experiences, so if you'd like to share your favorite resources, tips, funny stories, recipes, books, website or even just a photo from the week, please leave a link in the comments.

We hadn't planned on going north this weekend, but when my mom called and said they had a trailer full of stones to get rid of, we jumped at the chance.  Right now it's in a pile next to the woods, but I'm pretty sure it will end up in an outdoor kitchen or garden path someday.

Moving stone is good hard work, which leads to good long rests nestled in the wildflowers.

Of course I couldn't help but take a photo of each new flower blooming in the field.

(I never get tired of kids running on hay bales in the evening sun.)

  1. Lovely photos! You make moving stones seem like an adventure!

  2. BeautifuL and amazing photographs!
