Yarn Along

We had a {wee bit of a} winter storm here last night, making for the perfect day to knit and read.  Read about homesteading that is.  Because as of yesterday, our offer has been accepted on the land we've been dreaming of for a good long time now.  And really, I'm just trying to process the fact that it's actually happening, just when I was starting to think it never would.  I think today is going to be a good day.

p.s.  I'm joining in with Ginny for her weekly Yarn Along!

This Week

This week::

:: Spool knitting for the first time with Cole.  When I asked him if he preferred spool knitting over finger knitting he said, "Finger knitting is an extension of you and not a tool."

:: Released a fun new knitting pattern over on Ravelry

Rustic I Cord Bracelet
$1.99

::  Added several new items to the shop, including hand dyed yarn and upcycled longies!
My favorites are here, here, and here

::  Catching giant fluffy white snowflakes on our tongues

::  Visiting with Grandma and Grandpa before their month long trip to Florida

::  Waiting patiently for an acceptance offer on our land

What have you been up to this week?

Monday, again?

Wow, it's Monday again already?  This weekend was filled with lots of sewing and knitting for the shop! If all goes well this week, I hope to have a new batch of upcycled longies and a couple of new knitting patterns ready!

I also finished up a custom order for the Kendall slouchy hat.  I. Love. This.  Hat.  Period.  It's classic style really does look good on everyone who's tried it on and it stays put.  If you have long hair like me, you know how most hats "lift" off the top of your head, creating the cone head effect {not to mention cold ears}.  Not this one.  It says in place and I never ever have cold ears.  Ashley agrees.  This is the second Kendall she's ordered from me!  {Thanks, Ashley!}

What were you up to this weekend?

Staying in...

                                              Photos by Cole

The air was chilly in the house this morning, so Cole, Luke and I stayed in bed obnoxiously late.  Like until noon.  Giggling.  Reading.  Knitting.  A great way to end the week, don't you think?

Celebrating

A celebration of the lengthening of days and the hope of spring and warmth to come.  We spent the day at a nearby state park with a fire and a winter picnic lunch of hot veggie soup and bread.  After the sun went down, we followed the fox tracks across the lake {The fox love to scavenge for left over minnows and fish from the ice fisherman!} and the boys had fun inspecting the ice fishing holes.

Did you do anything to celebrate the day?
