A French Connection

Remember last summer when some friends and I turned a giant pile of garter stitch squares into a "Countless Woolen Ties of Love" blanket for Rebekah and Patrick's wedding gift?  Well, we've been at it again!  This time for a friend's wee little bébé across the ocean in France.

In true sewing bee style, we infused our love and good wishes into forty eight organic cotton garter stitch squares all knit by friends and family from around the country.

The blanket {and grandma} made it's way safely over the ocean for an extended stay in France.  I can't wait to share some pictures with you all!

  2. Beautiful! I love how the green is contrasting, but also looks very neat. No willy nilly seams here! :)

I do hope you show more of the blanket. I love the glimpses you have shared so far as well as the story that goes along with it.

  6. Thanks all! These are so much fun to make. Usually we assign a certain color and number of squares to each knitter but this time we had so many fairy godmothers creating this blanket that everyone ended up with a different sized pile, so we just made it work and it turned out beautifully!
