Free Crochet Pattern: Organic Cotton Flower Hat

It's been a little chilly around these parts this week {like break out the fleece chilly} and my poor little niece came to visit without any warm clothes.  What's a knitting auntie to do?  Why whip up a quick organic cotton crochet flower hat, of course! {try saying that three times fast}  Off to the stash I went in search of a hook and a skein of soft blue cotton to match her eyes.

{Lucy's blog is beautiful, you really should check it out!}

Sew the flower on snug with a piece of yarn and you're all set!

These little hats are so quick to work up, I think I'll make a few to sell at the farmer's market.  Maybe even a few without flowers for the little guys too.

I'd love to see what colors you choose, so feel free to leave a link
in the comments if you post any pictures~

  7. Just too cute! The hat too;) I haven't picked up needles or a hook in quite some time but we are supposed to be getting 8+ inches of snow tomorrow and I have 2 pretty skeins of yarn I got for Christmas so I may have to try my hand at this little hat! I will post of picture of my daughter in it if I get it done, wish me luck! I might have to brush up on some of my skills;)

  8. When you say "Continue to crochet around, without increasing, for 13 more rounds" does that mean that I just start single crocheting through each chain all the way around for 13 rounds?

  9. wondering the same thing too...about what it means without increasing?

  10. Can anyone shed some light on the last two comments. I have tried doing it twice but when it stays to continue without increasing I can not seem to get it to work. I continued doing the 1 sc 5 times and a 2 sc pattern like before but it didn't work. So I tried to only do 42 stiches on the first row after it says continue but there is a huge gap and would make a hole. Not sure what to do.

  11. @SGriego and Anonymous: When you've finished the last increase round, you'll work one single crochet in each of the stitches around. Keep working one single crochet stitch in each of the stitches around for 13 rounds. Let me know if I can offer any more help:)

  15. Did anyone get the instructions on how to enlarge this pattern?

  16. To make larger sizes just continue the increase rounds until the crown is large enough for your desired size. Knotty Knotty has a chart online that gives you the average crown sizes for different age groups from premie to adult. Then work the rounds with out increases to your desired length...hope that helps.

  17. Can I have permission to sell
    Thank you

  18. Yeah! After so much effort and discouragement I finally found a pattern I could do. I am so excited with the results...thank-you!
