THE yarn shop:: Darn Knit {Anyway}

We ventured out today to do some last minute shopping for the guy's trip to Canada, and somehow,  I talked them all into stopping by for a visit to THE yarn shop in the Twin Cities area, Darn Knit {Anyway}!

After a brief moment of moaning and whining, they quickly found themselves entranced by the lure of beautiful hand painted wools, alpaca, cashmere and silk.

Not only does Darn Knit {Anyway} boast beautiful yarns, but they also carry hand painted rovings,

unique handcrafted buttons,

a wall of vibrant modern fabrics, notions and knitting supplies,

and a boutique of handmade, one~of~a~kind pieces from local artists in the area!

Have kids?  That's ok, too~  The boys had a blast in the play area, and no one freaked out when they wanted to touch every single skein of yarn!

It's completely impossible to leave this store empty handed.  Luckily, my sensible family was there to rein me in; reminding me that the mortgage comes before yarn.  ~Sigh~  I put most of it back.  I did manage to sneak out with this gorgeous forest green that I'm going to use for a sweater pattern I'm designing for fall.  I can't wait to show you what I've got in store...

  1. Hello there! I just found your lovely little space while I was browsing through comments on Soulemama's blog. I'm a fellow Minnesota mama and can't wait to head over and check out this cute shop soon. I was browsing through your etsy shop and LOVE your patterns and creations just gorgeous. I think I have a few new things to add to my ravelry queue. I'm looking forward to coming back again to look around some more. Until then!

  7. That most hurt. You want to buy all these nice fabrics and yarns with the pretty colors but you can't afford it. In time though you can probably buy it. Be patient.
