When one door closes...

As the old adage goes.  It was a bitter sweet week for me; our long time local art gallery closed it's doors on Monday.  Rivertown Artworks was my first real experience at selling work to customers other than family and friends.

Each piece I create is a reflection of who I am, and in the beginning it was terrifying to know that my work and a piece of myself would be available for others to judge.  I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to use the art gallery as a platform for building the confidence and skills I needed to earn a living being an artist.  The most important thing I learned is if I keep creating designs I love, then it doesn't matter what other people think!

Timely as it may be, a new door has opened.  A generous womanfrom the NaturalKids Team, invited me to consign at her new shop, Pin Pon, in Chicago's Andersonville Galleria!   The Galleria features around 100 different independent artisans and merchants featuring unique indie wares.

I am ecstatic and so thankful to have been asked to join D' on her new adventure, and hope that it will be a long and successful relationship!
